Check out the thread below, it's not just yourself who seems to be in this proverbial boat:

What it might be worth doing though is dropping an Agent a line, perhaps they can give your balance a nudge with 1p to get you upto a tenner. Worth a pop.

Use the following form to raise this, and you should have a reply within 24 hours:

Owning that you're not a Super Recruiter (which I'm gonna assume your not), or if your friend activated the SIM on an old account which previously had a SIM active on it, then you won't get anything.

Outside of this, and since the activation appears to be within the time frame of the offer,  then you should be credited the £10 bonus. On top of that, you should also receive 500 Payback points (equal to £5), which should be visible on your Payback points tally anytime soon (Payback points earned during a given month are updated the following month) and will next be redeemable in June (when Payback is next paid out).

Also, if the SIM in question was activated within 42 days of you joining,  you should also receive a additional £5.

Since you've yet to garner anything credit wise, then your next port of call would be to contact an Agent to have them look into it for you. Do so using the follow link:

And as such you should receive a reply within 24 hours.

Thanks; somebody else already suggested this. I think the only way this will work is if I have spare SIMs stored at home for this eventuality.

Whilst I take your point, I'm not sure why GiffGaff limit me in this way, as if I have a friend or family member wishing to buy a new phone it's best to get it all sorted quickly.
