Following on from the discussions yesterday, we thought we'd drop a quick note on best practices around passwords. We know, you've heard it before but like the fire drill at school, it's good to get a reminder.
Best practice for managing usernames and passwords suggests that you should use neither the same username, nor the same password twice. If you re-use your username in multiple places, make sure that you don’t re-use the same password.
So stay safe and remember to keep those passwords safe.
I'v talked about this before on the blog. However, this is a good place to give an reminder.
Please use a different and very random password on each website, don't just change one
letter or add a number to the end of your password, because that's easy to guess.
To do this i recommend using a password manager like LastPass,
Check out how to use it to its best on the giffgaff blog here.
@gregg_b Thanks for this useful information, you cannot be to careful these days. I'am sure many will regard this as useful. I always get in a habit of changing passwords on a regular basis, and make notes of all them so I don't get confused.
Then I lock them away in my safe.
