December 6th's outage - what we're doing to say sorry [Updated]

This problem caused me no end of problems as I missed important texts and could not make or receive calls. I had a text appointment sent to me which was important and I didn't receive it until today so missed the appointment. I had to fill in my searches on the job centre site and fill out what I have been doing but I couldn't do it so I will get penalised for this and will probably end up losing money from them also. I have also missed messages from my family who couldn't contact me so we're worried. So I am looking to be compensated with a credit for this inconvenience.

Have you tried restarting your phone. Should all be working now. Going forward O2 and vodaphone will be sharing infrastructure so you wouldn't be avoiding O2 issues

It was great having no calls texts or data for the day. It was really peaceful for me.
It was a third party problem which Ericsson has admitted to so why should o2 giffgaff sky and Tesco have to pay compensation? They don't but have all made some kind of offer as a good will gesture. I certainly don't need or want anything so anything offered will be donated to charity

GiffGaff have just said how in the very announcement you have just replied to! You will be sent an email to your registered address with a link to apply for compensation.

Would like to know about compensation, I’ve went withought 4G all yesterday and I had really important and urgent phone calls to receive which I was unable to do so.

I had a child in leeds hospital been watched and monitoring every 15 mins with liver failure and a 15 month child at home getting looked after by family as I was working 14 hour shift but I ain't going to blame giffgaff that I missed 70 plus calls and texts it can happen to all networks and people shouldn't be giving it large about leaving giffgaff after everything they do for people end of rant thank you giffgaff for sorting it back out legends

@vespaash2 Great to see an update for those who wish to follow this up, it was little inconvenient for some, hugely inconvenient for others but the situation was beyond your control. Things happen.

I am still having the issue with text messagge .
Also I would like to get the link for the compensation please , me and my husband are both with giffgaff 2 sim cards, and not one of us could have any contact with our family abroad.Thanks
