@t_will I happened to notice that when for example an Educator removes a best answer from a thread, the best answer is rightly removed from the member's profile, who provided that answer.

However for some reason the single Best Answer green sticker with a tick remains in view with their Avatar.

Is this anomaly known about Will?

Hi t_will,

Can we have an experimenter sticker (someone who works something out then feeds it back, ) and how about a detective sticker (spyglass? Or 🕵), we could have platform stickers so whether you use android, iPhone, Linux, windows 10, Mac iOS, and show the combo sticker(s) if applicable, it might give a feel for a person's experience or point of view, especially in technical situations. For temporary situations you could have an out of office or on holiday one? (Can we have too many?) 😉

We have a Tester sticker in the works, just waiting for the right moment to launch it - we have some high profile tests that should be coming down the pipe soon.

Platform stickers are interesting - I think that might be something that's best dealt with through a different system, but I can completely see the use for it. In a discussion recently people who gave feedback made a very good point that stickers should be kept for things that you've done, accomplishments that people should want to learn how to do themselves - I like your point about it for being a platform expert as opposd to just a user in that regard.

How about a newcomer sticker ? @t_will
Its a lonely with non

There's an L-plate sticker that you get when you first join that helps people know that you're new, welcome you, and give help appropriately - but you lose it pretty quickly, either after five visits or ranking up. Would love to have stickers that are a bit more accessible to people, certainly - right now there's a big gap between people who are really very engaged and newbies.

It is, I've asked the community and our developers about it in the past. From what we can tell, the number of people who this happens with is very low. The best answer would have to be one for a particular threshold, and the BA would have to not be reversed before the end of the day, when the sticker system captures the information. Our view of this is that if someone does slip through the net, they're generally someone who is looking to learn how to help, so as they get better and get more best answers they'll catch back up with their stickers (this doesn't permanently offset their sticker count, it will continue to count correctly - ie, they will get the 5 sticker at 5, not 4). This is something I hope to change as we move to our new platform next year.

Hasn't the sticker thing died a death, given there has been no gg staff member comment within this thread for over 8 months, or to the best of my knowledge no new stickers introduced.
I guess its the same with the missions which in my view is no bad thing.
Perhaps both will vanish when we get the new community platform.

An interesting perspective - this is the announcement thread, but more discussion is ongoing in this thread in Contribute, which I note you've been active in within that eight-month period. I'd definitely recommend people come and join if they're interested in how stickers should evolve. There have been some developments in the background (for example, members who receive the message from the L-Plate sticker are now prompted to post to the community for help as opposed to replying to the message) but you're right, I could have been better at talking with the community about where they wanted stickers to go.

That said, even if no further development happened, I'm not sure that means it would have died. Some things can just be complete. Missions, for example, works very well - because it exists, people know more about giffgaff and are happier with their service.

Hope to see you folks over in the other thread Smiley Happy

Apologizes, I can see that you have posted on the subject of stickers in the thread in Contribute, although my feeling rightly or wrongly, that much of the initial drive to develop stickers has evaporated, but yes perhaps enough have already been developed.

But this raises a wider point of parallel discussion in several sections of the Community, typically Announcements and Contribute which makes it difficult to follow the ideas being offered.

If only Announcements were for Announcements - i.e the threads were read only and contribute were for discussion life would be so much easier and remove the need to post in both threads!

Hi
I’m curious to know why I was sent a 5 year anniversary sticker 6 months after the event.
Best,
Brian

Hi Brian, is it possible that this is your first login for a while? We made the decision not to message people who hadn't logged in so we didn't bug people who weren't visiting the community. What that means is that on your first login to the community after Stickers was launched, you then get caught up in the system and given all the stickers you should have earned up until now. Future stickers will be applied as and when they're earned.

Congrats on your five years!
