I find it really confusing that some 07X numbers are included and some are not. 07 numbers that are not mobiles should start 04 or 06 or something to help the public distinguish I think Smiley Happy

Termination rates are the real issue. Where the rates have dropped below ~1p per minute, the calls are inclusive. Where they are above that level, and can be anything up to 10p to 30p per minute, they are not inclusive. Ofcom currently has several strands of work engaged in tackling these issues from several angles.

Thank you Ian, I don't completely understand that but I'm pleased it's being looked at. Lily Smiley Happy

@will23

The old "non-mobile numbers" PDF is now seen to be out of date.

Please produce a new version of the "non-mobile numbers" list in a new PDF file.

Based on your ongoing investigations, forthcoming changes to the file may include:

  • definitely adding 075200, 075201
  • probably adding 075378, 075379
  • maybe adding 074414
  • definitely removing 074588, 075599
  • other, as yet unknown, changes.

I originally suggested updating this file some six months ago, along with these other suggestions...

  • Arrange the list of numbers in the new "non-mobile numbers" PDF into a three column layout like that already used in the premium rate numbers price list PDF.
  • While calls to these "non-mobile" numbers are known to cost 20p per minute, there is some confusion surrounding the cost of text messages sent to these numbers. Please clarify whether this is 20p (as stated on the price list page) or 8p as mentioned in various forum threads and add this text to the PDF.
  • Ensure the prefixes are arranged in numerical order.
  • Amend the PDF version number to "1.2" and update the publication date.

That's a bit unfair - our 075200 range is rated at the MTR (FM5 on the BT price list) and belongs to a legitimate and authentic MVNE (Simwood eSMS Ltd) - it is, for all intents and purposes a proper mobile number range.

I'd be happy to discuss this with someone at GiffGaff as I was one of the very first subscribers, long-term GiffGaff supporter (and sometimes detractor - but mostly supporter! - I also wrote that ancient iPhone profile at invalid.name/giffgaff ).

I can see why you'd not include FM12 or other high-cost ranges belonging to companies that aren't offering mobile services in-bundle but that shouldn't apply to us as we've done everything in our power to be a fair and honest mobile operator.

My contact details are on my website if anyone from GiffGaff wants to get in touch regarding this.
