Hello giffgaffers,

Edit to add: Voting has closed, and we've tallied up the results. We've had thousands of votes, and a clear result as follows:

1. Cancer Research UK - 43.1%

2. Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - 22%

3. National Autistic Society - 18.6%

4. National Association of Blood Bikes - 10.7%

5. Action for M.E. - 5.6%

Thank you to everyone who took part. If you'd like to take part in a discussion on potential revisions to the charity nomination and voting process, please visit the thread that @br1anst0rm kicked off.

This is just a heads up to let you know that Payback charity voting starts now. Everyone who has received payback points between December 2016 - June 2017 will be sent an email asking them to cast a vote on one of the top 5 charities you, the community have nominated

If you haven't yet received your email, don't worry, they're being sent out in waves. You will also be able to vote from a link found on your dashboard

If you haven't already seen, the top 5 charities nominated by you for this June are:

  • National Association of Blood Bikes
  • National Autistic Society
  • Action for M.E.
  • Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
  • Cancer Research UK

While casting your vote, you can also donate to your chosen charities through JustGiving.  You can either click on the links for the charities to donate through the website, or text donate using the codes below. (JustGiving Ts&Cs)

Cancer Research UK

Text the code GGCR50 followed by the amount to donate. For example:

GGCR50 £1 70070 to donate £1
GGCR50 £5 70070 to donate £5
GGCR50 £10 70070 to donate £10

National Autistic Society

Text the code GGAS51 followed by the amount to donate. For example:

GGAS51 £1 70070 to donate £1
GGAS51 £5 70070 to donate £5
GGAS51 £10 70070 to donate £10

Action for M.E.

Text the code GGME51 followed by the amount to donate. For example:

GGME51 £1 70070 to donate £1
GGME51 £5 70070 to donate £5
GGME51 £10 70070 to donate £10

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice

Text the code GGBW50 followed by the amount to donate. For example:

GGBW50 £1 70070 to donate £1
GGBW50 £5 70070 to donate £5
GGBW50 £10 70070 to donate £10

National Association of Blood Bikes

Blood Bikes is a little different. They have lots of local groups for you to donate to. By clicking the link to their website, you'll be able to make donations directly to a group nearby you.

Thanks and have a great day,

Amy and the community team

May I request you use one of:

  • Virgin Money Giving
  • BT MyDonate
  • Everyclick

Rather than JustGiving for the donation pages. All of these I've listed result in a larger donation than JG.

Even better, route everyone to the donation page on each charity's own website, as they'll only pay Stripe's processing fee.

Thank you for listening.

If you don't get the e-mail soon (or even if you do), there might be something appearing in the Messages/news section towards the bottom of your "My giffgaff" dashboard in the next few days.

Morning all.

The JustGiving pages have been set up. You can find them on the OP. Get sharing and donating to these amazing charities.

I just wanted to say we haven't chosen to ignore your suggestion for using a different donation page. We had a look through the Terms and Conditions and decided that as lots of members will be expecting us to use JustGiving due to the easy method of donating through texting, as it's such a short notice to make such a change, we will use JustGiving this time around again. Thank you for informing us of other methods to set up fundraising pages, we will certainly look more into them for December 2017.
