The price list page currently says this...

Call charges:
Unless otherwise stated, call prices include VAT, are quoted by the minute, and are charged in one second increments after the first minute. A one minute minimum call charge applies unless otherwise stated.

There is nothing on the rest of the page to contradict this statement.

However, the Special Charges Code of Practice page currently says this...

Making Premium calls (charged per call or in per minute increments)

Numbers starting 0843, 0844, 0845 (charged in per minute increments)
Numbers starting 0870, 0871, 0872, 0873 (charged in per minute increments)
Special Services (charged in per minute increments)
- Non-geographical numbers which are not listed above.

If the "charged in per minute increments" wording is no longer true, please remove it from the Code of Practice page.

They will NOT remove it as calls to those numbers ARE charged in "Per minute increments"

So the price list ought to correctly show the pricing of 0843, 0844 and 0845 numbers. Per minute or per second is part of the price and it should not be necessary to go to another page. It looks like an error that needs correcting. Supported.

@1hale  Is it just 0843, 0844, 0845 plus 0870, 0871, 0872, 0873 plus 090, 091, 098 (premium) that are charged in this way, or are there any other prefixes also charged in one minute increments?

Update 2014-07-31: An older price list found elsewhere seems to suggest that 055, 056, 070, 076, 084, 087 and 118 numbers are charged by the minute.

big cheese

There is also this discrepancy

On this page it says

"Making Premium calls (charged per call or in per minute increments)"

but inside the PDF file dated 8 July 2014 linked from that page it says

"Minimum charge of 1 minute applies for the ppm rated calls, subsequent duration is charged per second".

Which one is right?

Can we please get these discrepancies fixed without protracted discussion ?

The Special Charges Code of Practice page has been updated to clarify:

  • Calls to 03 numbers are charged a minimum one minute and then per second.
  • Numbers beginning 055, 056, 070, 076, 084, 087 are charged in per minute increments.
  • Calls to 090, 091, 098 numbers are charged either per call or a minimum of one minute and then per second.
  • Numbers beginning 118 are charged in per minute increments.
