Sim Ordering Notifications

Sim Ordering Notifications

So this is the Idea

I think we should have an option which lets us opt in for receiving email if we want to receive information about people whoever ordered through our URL or who have activated a sim.

The Idea

This will help some giffgaffers stop getting so many emails from giffgaff about sim activations and sim orders this will also help the giffgaff system by not sending out so many emails to most of us and help the system by not slowing down because most of us may not want to receive emails about sim activations.

This seems like a good idea and I think giffgaff should take a look into something like this and it will benefit them, I agree that most people don't like receiving many emails from giffgaff, good idea!

This is a good idea and shouldn't be too hard to implement. --Adam

@bertiebat i know but some of us might not want the email though so i think there should also be an option Smiley Happy

Strongly agree.

The additional problem with getting a borin number of GG emails is the "cry wolf" effect -- many people (and I am one of them) will filter anything from GG automatically to a "do not read" folder, and then perhaps one day a vital and important email from GG will also get ignored.

It is a bit like the messages telling us how much dredit is left after each call - some people like them and others find them intensely irritating. Well, I find it irritqating that GG keeps emailing me about stuff I can find out on the forums, and would very much like to be able to turn off those emails.

The only time I want GG to email me is if there is some problem, and I have not responded on the fourm or the fourms are out of action for some reason.

Personally, I'd be happy for the emails to be opt-out -- ie the default is the current set up, with a box or boxes I can tick somewhere to stop emails of different types.

I have also kudos'd the OP

I just have them all going through to a special gg folder, then when I get emails from gg I can look at the title and choose whether to delete it or not.

We're already working on ways to reduce the number of emails MGMers get.
