Sony phone troubleshooting: no network coverage

Are you having network issues? Check the signal strength icon in the status bar to make sure that your phone is connected to a network. If the signal is low or there is no signal, move to an open location, or get close to a window.

Check the signal strength on the phone screen. If you generally get good coverage in this area, check if there is no temporary mast issue or network issues.

Remove any accessory covers or shells from the phone temporary to check if covers affect the phones's signal strength.

Try reconnecting by switching "Airplane mode" On and back Off. This resets the active connection.

To turn off Airplane mode

  1. From your Home screen, tap the settings icon.
  2. Find and tap Settings > More….
  3. Unmark the Airplane mode checkbox.

Switch off your phone and take out the SIM card. If the SIM card is not properly inserted or if the SIM tray is not fully closed, the phone may get disconnected from the network. 

Put your SIM card in another phone to check if the issue is with your phone or your SIM card.
