The length of time the battery in your device can last before it needs to be charged depends very much on how you use your device. Fortunately, there are many means to extend the life of your battery. Follow the steps below to make your battery last longer between charges.
Disable all data connections over mobile networks to save power when you’re not using the Internet. Doing so does not prevent your phone from transmitting data over other wireless networks.
From your Home screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
Find and tap "Settings" > "Data usage".
To turn data traffic on or off, tap the on-off switch beside "Mobile data traffic" accordingly.
You can also turn data traffic on or off by marking or unmarking the "Mobile data traffic" checkbox under "Settings" > "More…" > "Mobile networks".
Lower the screen brightness level.
Turn off your phone or activate "Airplane mode" if you are in an area with low network coverage. Otherwise, your phone repeatedly scans for the giffgaff network, which reduces your battery life.
You can also press and hold down the power key and then select "Airplane mode" in the menu that opens.
Add the Quick settings widget to your Home screen
Turn off GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when you don’t need these features. You can turn them on and off more easily by adding the "Quick settings" widget to your Home screen.
Activate STAMINA mode
Use STAMINA mode to minimise battery consumption when the screen is inactive.
Increase synchronisation intervals
Increase the synchronisation interval for your email, calendar and contacts.
To access the battery usage menu
Check the battery usage menu in the phone to see which applications use the most power.
