We are getting information that suggests a recent batch of SIMs that were sent out have the incorrect activation codes on them.

If the code on your SIM is incorrect then when you try to activate it by typing in the 6 digit code the following message will be displayed: 'Activation code not valid'.

Unfortunately, if this happens you will not be able to progress the activation of the SIM.

We are investigating this and will hopefully be posting a workaround solution tomorrow morning which will enable you to activate the SIMs.

Please watch this thread for updates

There is now a solution for this issue.

Please email our support team at giffgaffteam@mailuk.custhelp.com

and use the subject header Activation Code problem

please also include in your email the Sim Serial Number (the long number on the SIM itself)

Thanks

When the agents issue a new activation code, does it still get associated with the person that originally referred them?

I also have this problem I followed the instructions step by step but I bought a #20 top up voucher to activate my sim. I do not have an active sim neither do I know if I have any credit. I destroyed my old o2 sim card and I'm now unaccountable. Please can you give me some advice on what I should do and to find out if I have to do anything about the voucher I redeemed.

Many Thanks

Did you get the code is invalid message? If so email them as suggested. If not and you got no errors, remember that activation takes up to 24 hrs to complete, but usually much quicker.

I have purchased a Top-Up voucher from ASDA in order to activate as per instructions on the GG site. It says on the voucher that it will expire the same day...what to do so not to loose those 10 quid I paid?!
