BlackBerry Bold 9790 review

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is the latest addition to RIM's premium 'Bold' range, combining a full QWERTY keyboard, with a touchscreen and of course BlackBerry Messenger and BlackBerry email.

The Bold 9790 has up to two days of battery charge, making it perhaps a little more convenient for business use than some of the Android phones, such as the Wildfire S, which can see battery drained by the end of the day with moderate usage.

A more expensive range than the Curve at around £360 SIM free, is the Bold worth the extra pennies?

How does the Bold 9790 compare to the existing Bold 9900 and is there anything to tempt newcomers to RIM's operating BlackBerry OS 7 operating system?

Well what can I say, I've seen reviews of this phone, and it's not got great reviews, and that's without me putting on my hate for Blackberrys.

The problem with Blackberry is that you lose half the screen for a keyboard that does not get used most of the time. I think Android and IOS make better use of the space available, with the keyboard only coming up if you need it.

Again - Great work Victoria, you're doing a great job. Just a quick note, I LOVE the intro scene whoever designed it. Although I'm no Blackberry fan, your videos are always great.

Just a tip for next time, bit more side lighting - I know Blackberries are efficient but I don't think they meant 'green fingered' Smiley Tongue.

I have the 9900 for work and basically only use it for email, which it is great at and as stated here has a usable size keyboard. Web browsing, watching video, etc is much better on my own (much older) Google Nexus S with Android. This 9790 doesn't look quite as nice as the 9900, either.

Great review. Is there any reason why the video is unlisted?
