Blackberry...the wait is over.

I’m really pleased to announce that from today you’ll be able to get Blackberry services on giffgaff.  You can now get a Blackberry add on to your goodybag for an additional £3, which will give you access to full Blackberry services, such as BBM.

We’ve had lots of giffgaff members asking for us to provide Blackberry services both here on the Forum and in our Social networks, especially on our Facebook page.

Unfortunately we had to delay the launch of Blackberry due to some service issues which impacted our core infrastructure however with fixes made (and being made), I’m happy to say that we are now in a position to push Blackberry live. For those giffgaffers who buy the Hokey Cokey goodybag, you’ll have a little longer to wait (sorry) as we are still working on adding the functionality to buy it with Hokey Cokey.

We had some handy giffgaffers helping with the testing of Blackberry so thank you to all of those who helped out.

So, that’s it, giffgaff meet Blackberry, Blackberry meet giffgaff.  Why not pass on the good news and let your friends who are on Blackberry know that giffgaff is up and running with BB.

well why cant i use my internet or bb ive bought ten pound goodybag and 3quid add on????

Does anyone know the new settings?

YESSSSSSS it works for me perfectly THANKS GIFFGAFF GREAT JOB Smiley Happy

Great News, BUT, why is there an extra charge, data is data, I don't see extra charges for iphone users.

If a £10 data goodybag is purchased it should cover Blackberry data.

Yes you are correct - data is data. However the Blackberry service also runs over the separate secure network BIS. There are a whole bunch of associated costs with that and for an extra £3 you are getting a bargain compared to what that service would cost you on a standard BB contract. iPhone and android users just use data via a standard browser.

I already have a blackberry and it worked perfectly until today. Now it won't connect to the BBM any more. Is that because of these changes?

how do i buy the add on if i allready have a goodybag in progress ?

GiffGaff sort it out!

I purchased a £10 goodybag and £3 Blackberry add on, on Thursday, and it still doesn't work!

I hope you will be extending the expiry dates on all our goodybags.

If you can't connect to bb services, try these steps: 1) battery pull, normally a reset will force the blackberry to update it's connection 2) turn off APN! Go into settings/device/advanced settings, go to TCP IP and untick the boxes, this setting was used before bb services was introduced so they're not needed now 3) register the device on the wireless network! In the advanced settings menu, go into host routing table, press the menu button and go on register now, if successful you should get a message saying the registration message was sent, you should get a message back if you've got the bb add-on saying registration successful! 4) reset the phone, there could be some settings that are conflicting the connection, normally a reset with the settings should do the trick! Steps 1,2,3 are crucial, only carry out step 4 if these steps don't work!

Do i need to take the add on to use internet services on my nlackberry...was previously locked to orange and have only been able to use wifi to home router since i joined giff gaff
