Hmm, the automatic phone number censoring doesn't work if the number is not preceeded by 07? eg 01234 567890 and>**phone_number_removed** (<- this was a fictitious mobile number starting 07)

So it only censors mobile numbers starting 07...

PS it also doesn't censor mobile numbers which are in thread titles, eg http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Help-Support>**phone_number_removed**/m-p/17322541#M5798980

There is a space between the 4and5 on mobile view?

Here to help.

I guess the thinking is that people aren't likely to post their home landline numbers on here, so they don't need censoring as much as mobile numbers, which are pretty likely to be posted on a help and support forum for mobile phone network users. Smiley Very Happy

@gordie10 hmm, but personal landline numbers are just as private as personal mobile numbers - think PPI cold calls!

Also shouldn't the censor work if the mobile number is in the thread title?

It should, yeah - I wasn't disputing that. I was just considering the other part of your post. Smiley Happy

And yes - landline numbers are just as private, but I'm just thinking perhaps people haven't posted their landline numbers on the forum before, to prompt giffgaff to censor them. Maybe if they did, "innocent" strings of numbers could get removed (i.e. any long number beginning with a '0').

@gordie10 I don't know any innocent strings of 11 numbers which start 01!? Smiley Tongue

How about company phone numbers - such as those for obtaining PACs, for example?
