Does anybody know if we will be able to use the BB Playbook with GiffGaff once they release a 3G version? Cheers, Liam =]

No-one knows yet, but if it can accept/send voice calls I think giffgaff will allow it!

AFAIK, Blackberry playbook does not support 3G (It is to be used with your Blackberry phone via tethering, so no 3G unlike Ipad).

I am sure without BIS or BES (which GiffGaff don't do at the moment), Playbook will not function as it should.

So my take is until BIS is active on GiffGaff playbook as well any of the BIS dependent services will be of no use.

From what I've read and seen, the BB Playbook will have bluetooth tethering, so you can access your BB handset data on the Playbook. You access the web via the built-in wifi and your BB services like BBM via tethering with your BB handset.

Ok, thanks guys.

And btw, nnj10, I know that the latest Playbook won't support 3G, but BB have stated that they hope to offer 3G and 4G Playbooks in the future. Smiley Happy

I think they said the are originally going to start with wifi, and you can tether Blackberry to it, then the 3G one will come out seperately.

There IS a 3G version planned though. Another point about linking the playbook to your blackberry, would you be able to use the internet on it or would giffgaff consider that tethering?
