I bought a set of car tyres online a couple of months ago and since then I keep getting bombarded with tyre adverts. Had a similar problem when I was searching for a replacement blade for our Flymo. After that I kept seeing endless ads for sites selling lawnmower parts.

It's one way in which these tracking cookie based ads are really flawed; they assume that if you've purchased an item once you'll want to keep buying the same thing over and over again. Either that or they assume I'm an obsessive collector of car tyres and Flymos...

I browse 'In Private' on whichever device I am, and use "Duck Duck Go' as a search engine as being much less cookie-friendly . . . AND delete History and Cookies regularly.

I tend to have 'related' adverts while I am still using having just bought something - then they disappear after I clear the history.

My main hotmail email account is 'ad-free' as I have been paying for it since my college days (15 years?) - it was the only way at the time to keep it from expiring over 'break periods' as I only had internet access at college in those days.
