I understand that... Maybe that’s a good idea... top up what you need... Seems to me everyone here are earning big bucks... I’m old school... changing the name from top up to goody bags is still confusing
I bet gif gaff has made loads from that change... lol. ??

@15hzp61 mobile data is no good when you have children they will use it very quickly you need a service from a home broadband provider.

The trouble with hot spot is the other user is tagged to you. If I go the corner shop the game is over...for them. Plus the battery life on my fone deminises quickly...
who’s side are you on????

I don't think anyone mentioned anything about "hot spots" here? Goodybags contain just as much data as the old gigabags (the "data only plans" that have been phased out) and have become cheaper.

There has been no name change here - Giffgaff has always used the term "goodybag"? You can still top-up "airtime credit" if you wish. These are two different payment methods that run side-by-side.

Once upon a time there was:-

Airtime credit - the traditional Pay As You Go credit - suitable only for very low users of any giffgaff services

Goodybags- monthly packages of calls/texts/data - only for use in phones so no tethering/tablets etc allowed

Gigabags - monthly packages of data intended for use in tablets etc. - although use in phones was allowed.

Over time (years) the restrictions on tethering/tablet use of goodybags were removed. The goodybags also evolved so that so that they became as cheap or cheaper than gigabags with the same data allowance. So the gigabags simply became pointless - even for someone with children.

Compared to other pay and go providers, giffgaff is still cheap with the included calls and text
