Doubt it @sfros56, but never say never, if they did I'd have to start giving data away!

@sfros56

I would imagine only if they see it as an opportunity to increase profits.

The thing about data roll over is that it’s very useful if you don’t use all your data every month ... however as it is usually tied to continuing to purchase the same package and you haven’t used it all the first month, you are unlikely to need it the following one are you?

Data roll over is a nice marketing gimmick but I wonder how many people who roll over say 25% of their data actually manage to use 125% the next month ???

Not whilst giffgaff has the option to switch to a different goodybag each month.

If you were tied into a contract where you were paying X amount every month regardless, it might make sense, but as giffgaff has the flexibility to change goodybags it would result in members buying a goodybag one month and not buying again until the rollover period has ended.

I do not work for giffgaff, so cannot check anything on your account. This is a public community - please do not post any personal info.

Hi @sfros56 as intimated you only need data rollover if you're commited to a certain level of data usage each month but don't use it! With giffgaff you have the flexibility to:

  • downgrade to a lower goodybag if you find yourself consistently with unused data at the end of each month
  • start your next goodybag early if you find you have run out in your in current goodybag and need more

I've not heard anything so far @sfros56. But as you say it seems to be more of a common offer from networks these days. I don't think giffgaff will be offering it within the next year though as they've recently updated their offers. But maybe in the future?

If not data roll over, then data refund or credit off your next goody bag purchase. This way nobody looses out because they only have to pay for what they use!

You would be **bleep** if you filled your car up with petrol and if you didn't use it by the month end it all vanished!

@benc30 as mentioned above you can buy what you need with giffgaff. Why fill you tank up if you know you're not going to use it all? Further if you do empty your tank you can then buy some more.
