I have friends who have a package like this in USA ... they share 2gb data between 5 of them plus their calls / texts but it costs them 70 dollars a month 😮.
So they're paying for 400 MB for $14 (£10.66) per month per individual. Giffgaff has 500 MB for £5 ($6.57) per month per individual, which for 5 people is £25 ($32.83) per month, plus an extra 100 MB each. Each of them having the £10 3 GB (+1) goodybag works even out less (£50 = $65.66).
So it's costing them more than twice than what it would if they were in the UK on individual plans, or they could get 10x the data for the same price here. Are they getting ripped off, or is the US an insanely expensive place to have a phone?
@dihqgo It is indeed insanely expensive
And I don’t know if that’s the norm but they are pretty financially savvy so I suspect it’s competitive. Deals may depend where you live there of course
I used it as an example to show how if you combine lots of people into one package it may be more expensive, especially for low users ... with my friends 2 of them are young teens and hardly use their phones so here I probably wouldn’t even buy them a bag, payg should be fine

Great for profits, if there's the demand of course, but I don't think there any mobile networks here that do anything similar and giffgaff don't seem interested.
I like this idea. GiffGaff would have to look into a competive costing system for it to make it worth while to then as a business and is the user, but overall I think it would be very popular.
The only downside I would have personally is my 12 year old, without a doubt, would use most of the data 😡😂😡😂😡
