I do find your comments suprising when looking at your previous posts the forum has clearly been of help to you. Having had a lot of experience with call centres  I know which I would prefer to use.

Ah, a good old ***RANT AND RUN*** lol it's amazing how many folk do that. Funnily enough tho the rant they start can often turn into a lengthy discussion, without the op ever returning.

don't lower the forums, they are helpful, they are fun and.....they help us earn payback. What on earth is wrong with that?

Just happened to browse this thread out of curiosity.  I like @gindygoo's description of the original post as "Rant and Run". Very apt.

 

Moreover as @tony_betteridge has pointed out - it appears that the OP was criticising the forums despite having sought and received help from them. So also an example of "biting the hand that feeds you".  

 

Doesn't reflect well on the OP, whose future posts I'm now likely to ignore as worthless.....

To be frank I think the giffgaff system of using the forum for support beats call centres hands down.

In 20+ years of using mobile phones on different networks the only times I've had to phone a customer service call centre were usually to request a PAC when leaving a network. This is something that can be done very easily online with giffgaff.

I also had to phone Vodafone's call centre numerous times after they'd yet again cocked something up on my account. This is not something I've ever experienced on giffgaff.

I once called Orange's technical support to find out the correct APN settings for tethering my laptop to my phone. The settings they gave me were incorrect and didn't work. In the end I just googled for the correct settings and found them quite easily.

Based on the above I'm really wonder why some people are so attached to call centres! I quite happily wouldn't ever phone a call centre again if I could avoid it.
