Hello,

I left giffgaff a month after they first started as I felt like they treated me like a no body, I decided to give them another go.

Are users on O2 who get free calls to O2 still getting free calls to giffgaff?

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your experience.

GG have treated me like a customer of a mobile network provider - that's all I was after really.

Anyway: I wasn't aware that people on O2 (O2 to O2 calls free package) could call GG people for free.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work the other way around: I can't text or call O2 people for free. I think a lot of the O2 deals now have unlimited texting to any network if you top up a certain amount.

Can anyone confirm this?

My son has an O2 PAYG card and the calls either direction are not

free for us (GG->02 8p / O2->GG 25p). Txt from GiffGaff to O2 cost 4p,

from 02 to GG  i can't tell for sure as he still has unlimited txt but i'm quit

certain will cost the regular price as soon as this runs out.

That's a shame.

Would've been a nice inter-network perk.

lvida - why not just use VOIP  when calling your son?  I assume you both have 3.5G coverage, and have reasonable handsets capable of at least running Java, and that he has mobile internet connection as well.

That would be unwise if the other phone does not have free or bundled internet use, as it would work out at about 50 pence a minute

Thanks Dangaff for the idea.

Actually there are many reasons why not. Most important is that he hasn't got

web allowance.  And he is finally moving to giffgaff (actually he has moved already,

but lost his SIM after two days and now temporarily back to O2 - but please don't tell

him that i told you  ;-)
