Overview

Payback is giffgaff's way of saying thanks to its customers for helping out - you can help out by recruiting new members, sending emails via "Spread The Word" or by helping other cutstomers in the giffgaff forums. Payback is issued twice a year, in June and December but you will receive statements every month - full dates will be explained later.

Points System Explained

Payback works in points, each point is worth 1p.

So, giving someone a SIM card gets you 500 points. A referral (when someone enters your username when registering) gets to 200 points and finally for sending someone an email (via Spread The Word) you earn 50 points each.

You also earn money for helping out in the forums, this will be explained fully later.

Earning - SIM Activations

There are 2 ways of earning payback here.

The best one is by ordering some SIM cards from "Spread the Word" and either send a few out yourself and give them out by hand or send a SIM direct to a friend via "Spread The Word" - if you do either one of these then you earn 500 points when the SIM activates. Your friend also gets £5 free credit.

The other way is letting your friends order the SIM themselves and enter your username as the "referrer" in the referee box during activation - this earns you 200 points but your friend does not get any free credit.

The best option is to hand out SIM cards yourself - this earns the most but you can choose what suits you best.

Earning - Emails

You can send emails to friends about giffgaff from "Spread the Word" as well, every successfull email sent earns you 50 points, with a max of 30 emails a month. Be careful, you cannot send emails to the same person more than once and you only get points for a successfully sent email so check the email address before sending.

Excellent stuff! My only query, is it should read 30 emails per month, not per day.

A tad pernickety, but there's a typo here:

" You can send emails to friends about giffgaff from "Spread the Word" as well, every successfull email sent earns you 50 points, with a max of 30 emails a day. Be careful, you cannot send emails to the same person more than once and you only get points for a successfully sent emailm so check the email address before sending." Smiley Happy

Please be pernickety.

@nixgeek - thanks, will correct that in a moment.

@jamesdn - sorry, it used to be 20 emails a day, it was then changed. Got into habit of typing per day. Will correct that in a moment.

In that case, another one here:

In "Earning - Forum Participation":

"You will be sorted into theses brackets and the correct amount of payback given." Smiley Very Happy

I tried to spell check - but it crashed. Will fix that issue and try spell check again.

Thanks for this.

Another 'pinkecity' point, but it should read in June and December and not on Smiley Tongue
