Whenever there is a general/major outage the H&S forum is flooded with threads from people asking for help despite there being a prominent banner announcing the outage on the giffgaff landing page.
I propose to try and reduce the number of help threads being created in similar future outages that a gate form be shown to members trying to start a new topic which they have to acknowledge before they're allowed to continue starting a new topic.
So when they click the "Start a Topic" button they are shown something like
I think this should go some way to reducing the number of new help threads being created.
I agree this idea would be good but there also needs to be a link attached to the thread it's self so members can keep up with what is happening, otherwise i can see members still putting up posts asking if the problem has been solved yet, which defeats the object in the first place.
In fact, I'd go further and put the forum into read only mode. It's glitching really badly. It's obviously totally unable to cope with the current level of users.
