There's no way we can get rid of general discussion because it all the miscellaneous conversations go to general discussion.

Steady on, this is an idea that does not have wide support and will not be implemented.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.

Maybe its not for everyone, personally I don't get involved in arguments or slanging matches.  I find that much of GD is very good natured and a lot of interesting topics come up.  I would not like to see it go.

Maybe now is the time to refocus on the reason there is a forum here, to actually support the giffgaff service.

GD has become like a bad TV schedule with trite stuff appearing all the time and any meaningful discussion descending into personal attacks.

Although I don't venture into GD much I think it should be left alone as is because there's alot of members who love GD as it is, and obviously if there's a post that breaks the T&Cs then report it and let the Eds sort it out, but I don't see any issues leaving it as is.

Should we also ban alcohol, smoking and Channel 5?

Maybe we shoudl just give adults choice and if they decide to visit the GD forum, then they do so at their own free will and take responsibility for what they read and post.

Nope, GD is an integral and important part of the Giffgaff Forum.
In my opinion it's part of what makes Giffgaff stand out from the crowd of other boring networks.

I think the other parts of the community would suffer greatly if general discussion was to be removed.

Leave GD alone Smiley Wink

I don't much like GD (I've always thought of it a "Gross Drivel") & I don't go there very often, I don't think the rest of the community would suffer much at all if GD was removed.

I don't think that GD is a problem - nobody is forced to go there & anyone who does not care much for the content will quickly determine that they do not want to bother with it. I don't think anybody would decide giffgaff was not for them because of the contents af a General Discussion forum.

So as far as I can see there is no requirement to "get rid of general discussion" (or any renamed version of it).
