I think giffgaff should get onboard with nectar!

Points for topping up and buying phones, option to have payback in points, be able to pay with points too.

What do other giffgaffers think?

@fgf

They will only do it if it appears to be a profitable move.

We have no way of knowing what negotiations there would be, so it is really hard to make a meaningful comment.

For Payback it would give an extra option for those who don't have PayPal or want to sign up but I'd have thought it would be of limited appeal given how Nectar points can be spent.

If an alternative is needed wouldn't Amazon vouchers be a better bet?

ebay have obviously done a deal with Sainsburys who own Nectar and Argos, which allows products to be click and collected from Argos - including phones from the giffgaff ebay market place, and Nectar points to be collected on most ebay purchases.

Downside is for payback the spending opportunities are somewhat restricted, Sainsbury, Argos and ebay, spring to mind, unless as part of the deal giffgaff wre to start to accept Nectar points!

But it is certainly a very reasonable idea in my view.

Hmm, points for buying phones and for topping up means giffgaff are giving you a, albeit small, discount on each purchase as nectar points for no extra benefit no themselves. I cannot see a financial or business incentive in this for giffgaff as they already offer reasonable prices and tariffs to benefit their members.

A very quick search in the Lab for 'nectar' reveals that the idea has been there since May 2014 and in the intervening period has received just 44 votes.

I would suggest no-one holds their breath waiting for this to be implemented...Smiley Wink
