Not really blaming giffgaff although the expensive PAYG rates are the other reason. I've ordered a Talkmobile SIM (Vodafone) to try out. No signal at all on giffgaff or very poor / intermittent and not just recently consistently so. Why are O2 so bad!? Not only are they the worst for 3G coverage their 2G now seems awful as well. Smiley Frustrated Not planning on leaving giffgaff entirely but the giffgaff SIM will have to come out of my dual SIM phone it's not even usable for backup. That's not backup if it doesn't work. I get a better signal on Three than I do on giffgaff/O2 that doesn't make sense taking the different frequencies they use into account.

28 Mbps is only blistering by giffgaff standards. I'd accept that though if it was during peak hours.

Last speed test on my 02 contract was 61Mb down, at peak time while being a passenger in a moving vehicle.. So, it's absolutely perfect for me.

You are lucky to get 61Kb down on gg 😱

All I get on giffgaff here, when I do get a signal, is blistering GPRS so it's not even about data O2 is an old 2G network. I know they're crap but the O2 signal is now so bad / unreliable it's not even any good for calls.

O2 have been REMOVING masts to reduce operating costs so that they can expand their 4G network.
I used to live in an area with very good O2 coverage, then they "upgraded" the local masts and hey presto! No 2G coverage indoors and pretty useless coverage outdoors.

EE and Three are continually introducing better services on their network, whilst O2 and Vodafone play catch up.

As an aside, I know that loads of people complain about Vodafone's coverage, but it's the only really reliable network I've used across southern England.

I knew my signal had gone from pretty good to nothing. I know where my latest tower is I reckon it's been removed
