It appears that several of giffgaff's better known helpers are unable to distinguish between the 6 month warranty provided on a "pre-owned" phone & the 12 month warranty provided on a "refurbished" phone.

In fact some of them appear unable to see any difference at all between "pre-owned" and "re-furbished"

I can't think what giffgaff should do to make the difference clearer - but it seems something needs to be done.

Looking at the pre owned section on mobile one of the first few things it says is a 6 month warantee.

I think it's more a case that people need to make themselves more aware, rather than giffgaff making them more aware.

I guess the only thing to do would be to make sure the correct info with a link gets posted in a thread where someone has stated the wrong warantee period...and if that doesn't help use the report feature perhaps

Well said @rqt

As it happens, I do know the difference and it is clear enough for me but that does not mean everyone knows and yes it could be clearer.

I think its clear enough.it states the warranty as soon as you look at pre owned.
I dont really see why any member should need to ask in help.
Also if they dont look at whats right in front of them i dont think they will be searching the knowledge base

@weelesleymc

If you read my original post you will see that I also think the warranty situation is fairly clear, and that my concern is not with those asking in H&S about warranty - it is about those (sometimes very well known members) answering those questions incorrectly.
