Has this ever been suggested? I think it would be popular choice for a lot of members.

loads of times this has been mentioned but can't see it ever happening as o2 doesn't do it.

many times @hdavey17 its a popular idea in labs.but it gets a not for us from giffgaff

if o2 ever do £5 top ups then giffgaff would follow suit

Yup loads of times this has been suggested. Probably one of the most popular. Giffgaff don’t seem interested though

Yes, it has been suggested many times, but the transaction costs don't really make it worthwhile

Doubt very much they could even if they wanted to, it's an O2 thing isn't it the £20 £10 minimum topup. I do agree though £10 is too much it should be £5. I can topup my Three Rewards PAYG SIM £2 using my debit card.

 

Edit: That's strange not sure where the £20 topup came from instead of £10 Man Very Happy either a typo or my browser went funny and stuck the 2 from the £2 Three topup I mentioned where the 1 was supposed to be.

Popularity does not always equate to sound business sense or management. 

 

After you remove vat and banking charges a £5 top up leaves giffgaff with around £4 to profiteer from. The £5 airtime could sit there for years apart from a six monthly text to keep the sim active.

 

Luckily, giffgaff do allow the £5 purchase of a goodybag that expires after a month.
