So pleased you have brought this subject up and we are discussing this again and giffgaff are onboard aswell.

Yes I know we can do a simple SIM swap but as you say others can be trapped in the cycle of lost/ replacement sim.

We discussed having a paid option way back in 2013 albiet for a new sim and not technically for stolen or lost  sim exactly .

I would idealy like a combination of these options you have stated , this would give the members more flexability and it should be something giffgaff should be able to bring with minimum fuss or cost

 

 

  • Guaranteed next working day mail delivery of replacement sim at member's cost. 
  • First class regular postal delivery, free to member.
  • Sim swap option with any giffgaff unactivated sim. 
  • Reverse a fraudulent sim swap to original sim (If available)
  • Activation of a blank SIM after reporting lost or stolen and not having to wait for a replacement SIM from giffgaff

In the labs theres an idea to just block your phone now instead of  phone and sim  or just your sim.

As sims are now sold in many outlets it makes sence to buy one and do a sim swap and you can be up and running within a couple of hours instead of waiting for the replacement.

Its been in the labs for ages and it being looked into ( for ages aswell )

That was a 2013 idea and giffgaff these days do offer the options of blocking your phone only, SIM only or both.

I still think they should change the lost and stolen part tho as that  would be easier for others.

@kathleen414 As I understood it back in 2013 it was second class post as standard.

 

These days all Sims are sent first class by Royal Mail.

 

I get error 404 on second idea.
