I do appreciate all that you say here.

However, it is important to remember that it's all about people having options.

There are many people out there - not just the elderly - who are resistant to change and feel more comfortable with what they know. It is important to respect that - yes, I know that certain big companies will take advantage of their inertia!

The world of today is a difficult place.

Just imagine the scenario if Giffgaff gained a huge number of extra customers due to the elderly changing after prompting by their well-meaning offspring; there are large numbers of people posting on H&S forum at present with simple queries and I suggest that the system could be in danger of collapse if there were perhaps double the number of members posting.

My dad (whose 81) usually runs things past me if its anything online financial wise as he always wants the best deal, Not that hes slow or gullible in the slightest just not very tech savvy so it just makes sense. and has saved him hundreds in car insurance and gas/electric tariffs etc
