Getting ready for GDPR
@paddy_b brings us news on GDPR. Well, if you're like me and haven't got a clue what this is . In the UK, the processing, storage and sharing of personal data is governed by the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Privacy in Electronic Communications Regulation (PECR). These laws exist to protect the privacy of individuals. Organisations who fall foul of these laws can end up being prosecuted and fined by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). For a full breakdown of this important news and changes head over here. In May 2018, the DPA will be superseded by the EU’s brand spanking new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It's a huge regulation, but in a nutshell, it builds on DPA by giving individuals greater control over their personal data.

All of those words can be used in reference to the lovely dog and also the location, the two together really do compliment each other to make a memorable image.

Christmas has become a commercialised holiday, where retailers expect to make large profits, and make up for any losses pre-holiday season losses. But is this really the case in practice? January saw many large tech companies accounts filings failing to meet expectations. It was announced that companies including Apple, GoPro, Google and many others in the industry had not met sales targets for the Christmas quarter.
But what does this mean? For many tech industry giants, this will have little effect on their everyday profits and takings, however, due to the large expanse of the world’s media and press, share prices and stock exchange trades will reduce dramatically. In terms of you, the consumer, this will likely mean that during future holiday sales, prices will be lowered even further, in order to attract more attention.
Also, perhaps Apple will have learned its lesson, to not make a new phone on an annual basis, and instead offer up its flagship phones at a reduced price. While many may be disappointed, for the bargain hunters out there, upcoming holiday sales may be the perfect time to grab a good deal. However, only time will tell, and with many shops just finishing and brushing away their New Year’s sales, it’s time for new stock to be brought in and prices will likely see a leap.
So what shall we learn from all this? To put it simply, it’s best to wait for a while to buy your favourite new tech, as the price will likely fall.
