The reaon I say this. Theres numerous complaints on here. Its a poor experience, Giffgaff don't seem to care about the data experience so maybe its time they give up offering data and offered a core calls and texts package.
Anyway I did some testing. The test location was Manchester Piccadilly (Fairfield street lift entrance near the metrolink bus replacement), All same test server (Broadband 4 the rurural
Virgin Trains Wifi
Stagecoach bus free Wifi
Now I must be honest. I didn't get a screenshot of the Virgin Trains wifi but the download was 5mb down and 3mb up. (Platform 9 was the closest train to Fairfield street)
So Stagecoach bus here are there results.
Which isn't bad for a bus
and finally giffgaff
We r all aware of slow speed but like me just browsing web it's ok, have u thought of buying house near station, would save u a fortune, do that test by me and 3network is slower than giffgaff so it does not mean much .all tests in world and different places will be different
a stagecoach bus is better than giffgaff
As for living near the station I practically do!
The reason you see so many complaints is simple. No one puts a post up to say thanks for all the great data speed I have been getting.
More happy customers than sad ones. Proof
giffgaff are still in business.
And yes I am one of 24 in my family who are happy with the data speed we get.
Just what I was going to say @gkslb04 the forum is full of complaints and issues because this is where those with complaints and issues come. Those with no complaints and issues do not come and complain about it.
I'm not saying GG data is great for everyone by any means but limited bandwidth means that in busy places (like stations) speeds will be slow
1.2mbps is not even 3G!
Until the fans figure out they are the ones damaging giffgaff and an actual director (Fairham isn't a director according to companies house) sits up and goes hang on paying customers want what they are paying for. 4G
