May I suggest GiffGaff introduce a WiFi enabled mobile call feature to improve the quality of the phone call and help avoid dead spots between Cell Masts (such as I have at home!). The O2 WiFi Calling service is getting good reports (though EE, Vodafone and others have their different offerings).

Would it be possible for GiffGaff to sign up to the O2 WiFi Calling? If not could it take over the TU GO service O2 recently abandoned for their new version. Lots of users say TU GO was the main reason they used O2.

I believe the O2 wifi calling is only available to their contract customers, not PAYG customers, as soon as it is offered to their PAYG customer, then gg will probably also be given the option as well?

Hi @communicator1965

Great Idea ! or shall i say two.

Wifi calling has been around for a while and on different devices.

As matter of fact, someone has published an idea in the lab (where people search and submit ideas if it does not exist) -
https://labs.giffgaff.com/idea/15253880/apple-sim-ipad-mini-3-ipad-air-2-and-wifi-calling-giffgaff-a...

The idea can be expanded to other manufacturers as well Smiley Happy Just pop in the comments of the idea Smiley Happy

Also the TuGo idea is located here- https://labs.giffgaff.com/idea/9525810

It does indeed have 1664 votes on the idea (amazing)

Oh forgot to mention you can vote by hitting the red heart Smiley Happy

Many people would like this, but it seems o2 is holding on tight to contract customers with it - I have it with my Three work phone, and have to say I am very impressed with it (using it on a Iphone SE). Hopefully it will come eventually

Wifi calling on giffgaff eould be an awesome feature.

It would help reduce impact of signal issues on giffgaff.

My reading of the O2 website suggests the feature comes automatically with 4G whether you are on a contract or a Sim only deal.

You are right in saying it would reduce signal complaints to GiffGaff dramatically.

If you are unfortunate enough to have your home or your office in a poor reception area, this would change the whole phone experience. Calling when travelling would also be vastly improved.

It's such a great feature, Shame it's not offered. If O2 eventually offer it to pay and go customers, then giffgaff will have issues
