Home made isn’t just for festivals so let’s share things we are making this month.

Do you make birthday cakes, nice desserts or just a nice meal?

Do you knit or sew?

ate you a carpenter?

do you paint?

Have you made a new flower bed in the garden?

Why not share it here and inspire other Giffgaffers

Here’s a birthday cake I made for my colleagues 30th this week

it’s vanilla sponge with fondant icing (I buy the icing ready made) I coloured some of the spare fondant and used my cutters to make the flowers

I do like to cook and bake. I always made my childrens Birthday cakes when they were young, I did make a white chocolate hedgehog cake for my Granddaughter, she loved it. I dyed some dessicated coconut bright green to look like grass and added some flowers and had the Mummy hedgehog & 2 babies in the grass. I used to do some knitting but I broke my wrist quite badly back last year and its just not strong enough anymore.

@janny27 do you have pictures, we’d love to see the hedgehog cake

It’s annoying when our bodies get in the way of our hobbies. I used to cross stitch but now I’d need to wear my glasses to see the holes in the fabric 😂

Scalfs are a great way to start knitting! I know what you mean about time though ... life gets in the way ... I like to use odd moments when I can ... I use circular needles which are shorter and means I can pop them in my bag and use spare moments while commuting or waiting on kids

I like home made apple crumble and custard after my dinner. I don't like it as sweet as store bought crumble.

Are circular needles easy to use? I mean are they similar to use like the long knitting needles?
I want to give them a try but I dont know if I will manage ....what can you knit with circular needles? @kath72
