So last night the prices were relaesed and to be honest i am a bit miffed

£300 gets you a sports model (Not waterproof) with a rubber strap.

£900 gets you the same watch but with a Metal strap!!!!

How do they figure that??

I am fortunate and can afford one but am reluctant to pay £900 for a watch that cost £300 with a rubber strap.

Which brings me to the £13500 rose gold watch !!! same watch but the case is rose gold (maybe £80  of rose gold) with a rubber strap!!!

You can get 3 Rolex's for that money!! in the past i have bought several Cartiers and several Omegas and they still do not equate to this crazy figure of £13500 !!

Have Apple gone a bit bonkers?

Your Thoughts

I'll stick to my G-Shock. Less than £60. Five years use on a £1.45 battery. Waterproof, shock proof, in fact it's almost anything proof. It tells the time just by looking at it and if I do manage to wreck it one day it's not expensive to replace.

I really don't see the overwhelming benefit these watches will provide.

And I expect those who wouldn't normally pay as much for a watch will now for one of these.

Charging your watch daily? lol

If Apple claimed to have invented the wheel you would still get 500 fools queuing outside the apple shop to be the first to pay £200 extra to own one. I do like apple design but in terms of technology they have been nothing special for years.

I am happy to spend money on watches as they are my weakness but i feel it hard to justify the price gap based on the material of the strap!

My last Breitling came with 2 straps (rubber and Metal) and cost not alot more.

Without sounding like an economics teacher unfortunately it is supply and demand. If people fork out the money then they will sell at that price.

Give it a year until there is a decent Korean copy (i.e. S**sung) and the prices will fall away...
