I'm thinking of getting either the new Chromebook or one of the Nexus tablets (7 or 10).

The purpose for the purchase is to be able to do internet surfing/emailing/possibly some Excel editing on the go i.e on trains and buses.

Does either the Chromebook or Nexus 7 have any major advantage/drawbacks relative to the other?

Also - am I correct in thinking that there is no 3G version of Google Nexus 10 at the moment? Is there anything similar on the horizon?

And the 3G version of the Nexus 7 is near impossible to get hold of at the moment (sold out on the Google play site) - does anyone know of somewhere that stocks it?

I have just got the WiFi nexus 7. Tethering with my £10 goodybag. Unbelievably easy to set up. Got 32gb storage. Cracking bit of kit. While I was in PC World today I did see a new tablet which is 3g and WiFi too made by Lenovo. May be worth having a look at it as it was only £149. Seemed like a decent bit of kit.

You're right that the nexus 10 doesn't come with 3G version.
