Good evening Sir! Love, love the funnies. As a child I had a Shetland pony named Pete. Pete's sole mission in life seemed to be to throw his riders from his back. He was always successful and always kicked up his back heels and broke wind in celebration. Laying on my back in the gravel drive, this was quite intimidating!!! Personal experience has taught me that the meaning of most of our holidays has been lost with the pressure to spend, spend, spend. One of the messages Christmas is meant to convey is peace on earth and Goodwill towards men. In reality this is npt the experience we receive in retail roles.on the run up to Christmas, but most other holidays have lost their meanings as well. Easter is about fluffy bunnies and chocolate eggs, Guy Fawkes is definately all about the treacle toffee, and some of Englands holidays such as Saint George's day are not given a mention. Yes i do agree that we have lost the meaning what religous holidays are thru commercialism, we are becoming so materialistic, would be better if we went back to more simpler times. Close stores over the Christmas period let people spend this time with their families

you are right there is definitely more spending on the holidays to such a degree that I am totally lost with it!
St Georges Day, you get the odd celebration but that will be it, nothing in the shops for this one.
Then everyone seems to do the spend bit on St Patricks Day ????? confused

I have St George's Flag flying outside my home and stickers in the car

I like it yes close all shops on a Sunday wow that would be good, go back to peace and quiet, no cars
