The DCMS Committee has done a great job getting information out of FB and has really pushed them. Our politicians done good.

 

This is a pdf link to the parliament website. It’s the latest release of internal FB dodcument which discusses ways of making money out of data. Some of the terminology is beyond me but if we have anyone in the IT business with more time than sense....Smiley LOL

 

Oh and it’s 250 pages long!

P243 is an absolute doozy where they discuss the feared PR fallout of v3.0 and media accusations of data harvesting - specifically call log and sms info. It also discusses the “read call log” permission on Android and seems to suggest that they had a way of upgrading users to 3.0 without displaying a permissions screen but I may have misunderstood that. It needs a techie to decipher.

@mrbond007 Pretty much. I got about as far as page 43 (skipping bits as I went then jumped right to the end. Essentially it appeared to be a series of conversations as to how to make the most money from peoples data,
