Not heard of a VPN (showin me age lol)
if charger point receded has it come away inside?
annoys me when a weak point built into things, hard to get things fixed these days?
we used to have an electrolux hoover repair shop, mostly for belt fixing cos that was about all that goes on them, the bristles wear down too... ours must be 70s and still cleans fairly well, beats the dirt out. Can still get a good result brushing by hand tho, what mother did - they grew up without gadgets! Her 'copper' that she boiled stuff in like cotton hankies and nappies went on for years. I think modern washing machines have a residue of nasty water in that rarely empties out totally so things tend to fester in there? That's what I heard. Do have to do really hot wash with powder detergent in every month or so to keep it running cleaner.
Think is why so much perfume in fabric conditioners and liquids.. they seem to bind with clothes and you end up breathing the stuff all day..
