Not a chance @nefarius.

I wouldn't spend £300 quid on a phone these days, my phones are actually getting cheaper:

Nexus 4 £240
OnePlus 3 £320
Nexus 5X £150
Moto X4 £0
Huawei P20 Pro £0

So there is no way I'm gonna spend even £150 on a pair of headphones, that's just **bleep**ing ridiculous.

I'm only going to £80 for the 35hrs battery life, 45hrs if you switch off noise cancellation apparently. Until I saw that I was gonna limit it to £50 .

Those Beats things... I can't even begin to justify spending that much money on a pair of headphones, until this USBC stupidity I had a hard time justifying £25, I'm not happy I've been forced to extend that, lol

It's all one big **bleep**ing con job if you ask me, making perfectly good, cheap tech prematurely obsolete and replacing it with fiddly new tech at ridiculously inflated prices... total **bleep**ing scam.

Just on the P20 Pro battery life again...

10hrs off charge.
8.5hrs screen time
3.2hrs playing "Real Racing"

...and I still had over 30% battery left.

It really is insane what this battery can do, even when gaming.

I know what you mean but they are outstanding headphones.

I had a pair Ministry of Sounds headphones but the casing design was flawed and they cracked. I was gutted because the sound they put out was superb but I knew if I replaced them under warranty they'd break again so I got a refund. I then got a free pair of beats headphones on a 12 month contract with o2. They were on par with MoS headphones. 🤗

Headphones are like speakers, quality makes a huge difference to sound reproduction.

Anyway, enjoy your Sony headphones.

Oh don't get me wrong @nefarius, if they were free... :-D

As I've already gotten the P20 Pro free of charge however I'm not sure Vodafone would do that for me, lol

Perhaps next Black Friday I'll find some free top end headphones, or some within what I can justify spending anyway.

And so the test begins...

I have 80GB data to last 31 days, which is an average of 2.56GB a day. How soon will I have to start using goodybags to supplement my data usage? :-D

Okay, this can't possibly be true...

...not even voodoo can make a battery drain just 1% in 55mins of screen time AND listening to Spotify on a Bluetooth headset, can it?

It's literally just dropped to 98% now, at 59mins, lol

As for the mobile data issue now I'm on a true fixed package, the goal is to not exceed an average of 2.58GB usage per far so good and I've not changed my usage at all...

...I'm gonna have plenty left over for the next 3GB+ system update sent my way, lol

Final update I'm gonna be making on this, (unless the handset breaks down), and it's concerning the tariff portion of the deal...

I was mildly concerned that switching to an 80GB hard limit would ultimately see me spending a little more than I had been previously.

I shouldn't have worried, the average daily allowance has now risen from 2.58GB to 3.4GB without me making any efforts whatsoever to control my usage.

The conclusion is that the whole package was perfect for my needs and has turned out to be a most excellent purchase. :-)

Currently downloading the EMUI 9.0, (Android Pie update), and it's a whopping 4.03GB! By far the largest operating system update I've ever had on a mobile device, lol

This device is incredible...

It took fifteen minutes to download and install an update over 4GB in size, (using mobile data too by the way).

Mostly like the EMUI updates, apart from one thing, the new network usage page is a bit crap. It used to show both used and remaining data and now it only shows remaining data.

Don't like the new recents menu either, gone are the cards which scroll horizontally and they've been replaced with an idiotic sideways scrolling menu which is very much like Windows. Me no like that.

Other than that, it's mostly good as long as it hasn't destroyed my battery life.

Display resolution and brightness setting STILL resets after a reboot rather annoyingly though.
