Only ever been there on business. People are warm and friendly enough. Some very nice places and obviously some very historic places.

Bit paranoid about security but then that's not surprising considering its history.

As a foreigner in any country you cannot just turn up and start doing things like that, the authorities would have something to say about it. You would get arrested here if you started illegally filling in potholes in the roads, even if it might seem a good idea.

A friend of mine is from Israel he was military and some of the things he’s told me about the place aren’t great 😩

They were fixing a road, filling in holes, they were not shooting anyone not launching any missiles, knot using knives on anyone,
But filiing up holes in a road..
