I preplan where to drop off the motorway to eat, if I can. Even a Tesco or Sainsbury is better than 99% of motorway food.

If it is not practical to get off the motorway (M6 toll has that problem) then I'd buy a sandwich in the shop and eat it in the car.

Never eaten in a service station.

Put it this way, if I opened a cafe and tried charging their prices  I'd have an empty shop and be laughed off the planet

I'd rather go hungary or drive until I found one serving Heston Blumenthal's. Smiley LOL

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.

KFC for me would have been my choice, though they are quite pricey, especially at service stations!

Burger King are also fine and of they have any decent burgers on a reasonable promo price, I go there - again, they'll likely ramp the price up though since it's a motorway service station.

My advice: get off the motorway and find somewhere that isn't going to charge an arm and a leg for the privilege of being on a motorway, and thus the only place you can get food during your journey!

If I had too choose then kfc, but usually plan ahead where we'll eat, and when, if no suitable restaurant I pack a picnic
