Happy Thursday everyone! Hope you're all well & relaxing somewhere sunny! Apologies for not being around here much recently, as I've had a few matters to deal with & I'm just catching up.
This week, I've made my sixth sugar shoe - I made my first one in February 2018 for my Mum on Mother's Day. This new shoe is called the Blush Rose Shoe & stands about 3 inches tall. All handmade & sculpted, the entire shoe is edible (although it won't be eaten) & made of sugar paste. As before, I've not used any moulds or templates, just a pair of shoes I actually bought for my own wedding & never wore (pic below). The tiny white flowers underneath the rose & at the top of the heel are individually sculpted from a ball of sugar paste, then painted inside with a little yellow food colour (the tiny buds are about 3mm - 4mm to give you an idea of how tiny they are). The rose is made of sugar paste petals, which I tinted a dainty delicate pink using a gel colour & then enhanced it using dry food colour dusts. I've also made some other sugar roses to practise the different pinks, until I was happy with the various shades. The leaves are a blend of sugar paste & fondant. I used a leave cutter originally, but it was too big so I cut them freehand & scored the veins into them.
Once I'd finished the shoe, it was mounted on a sugar paste cloud & everything was dusted with a little edible gold glitter & more pink around the edges. It's for our wedding anniversary in a couple of months, so I wanted something I can keep that's special & unique. It's my favourite sugar creation to date & I hope you like it too.
Have a fabulous evening & thank you all so much for your kind support, it's much appreciated! Stay hungry! Aimee x
