Seriously tho it will be more expense to either close more smaller businesses as they won't be able to afford it, or hike prices up in the big nationals as they'll pass the cost to the consumer, I can understand doing it to cars, but vans and wagons which are used to deliver stock to various shops will cause our shopping centres more hardship and could very well be the nail in the coffin for some, yes its only London at the moment, but they'll gradually introduce it to all our cities and larger towns eventually especially if it proves profitable and puts money into there coffers.

I don't know if I am reading the article wrong but does it not say that cars manufactured from 2005 "generally" meet the required standard therefore won't have to pay. I'd say most cars will be younger than that? @eileenusher
