I don't blame him for being slightly wary of that, there are groups of people on these boards who seem to do little more than go around hitting report for what are extremely minor infractions, or claiming tremendous offence in order to silence people and opinions which they don't agree with. Many have been targeted in such a way.

I'd kudos this, but respect your non kudos position

@nefarius so why title the thread Schengen?
In any case I think you'll find a few already in that club are regretting it now, best thing we ever did was to stay out

The title of this thread reflects the flavour of this thread? @michaeldunha

My opening post -

Unlimited access to 26 countries. Free to live wherever you so wish.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area

I used to own a house in France. I felt so lucky. It was the best thing I ever bought.

When I bought it the pound was worth 1.6 euros so it was cheap as chips. Now the pound is worthless at 1.13 euros.

                   ........................................

Schengen rules OK! 😊

@nefarius yeah you're just not getting it are you?
The access to the other countries isn't dependant on Schengen, in fact it's just a zone without border controls. It doesn't give people the right to live within the zone.
Non EU nationals can for example move freely within zone if they have the correct documents, but they have no right to live within the zone.
Also, exchange rates have nothing to do with Schengen

One thing you made me do is read up about this. I was unaware, probably shamefully, that you could obtain a schengen visa without being a member of the EU.
