Overnight the snow layer covering Oxfordshire was upgraded from, “barely visible” to “light dusting”. Whilst people in the county should be careful of ice (as per Met office warning) they should also expect delays to public transport, problems on the roads caused by idiots who can’t drive in winter, and empty supermarket shelves. In addition people should be prepared for an increase in people complaining that winter is cold.

This was a public announcement brought you by the Council for Embarrassed Southerners Who Dont Panic at the First Sign of Snow

I had to laugh last year with the "beast from the east" & scenes of southern softies panicking over an inch of snow, as I walked my dogs past 12 foot high snow drifts (and the milkman still delivered).
& yes we still have milkmen, and milk in glass bottles which you rinse and return. It's grim up north.

You know they had to fit "snow gates" around here, to prevent people from just getting on with it and driving to work.

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.

What about the loo roll @frenchieloveYou forgot the loo roll! Quick you’d better break out the Nordic walking poles, ski wear, shoe grips, pocket hand warmers and emergency blanket (in case you get snowed under going to the shops) and get back out there (don’t drive it’s far too unsafe). Smiley LOL

No snow here in neighbouring Wiltshire @andyslc - lovely sunshine, but a hard frost.   Nothing to what we used to get in Scotland though !   Just take care on the roads ....  Smiley Happy
