Shouldn't there now be a by-election in Streatham?

Chuka Umunna was elected as a Labour Party member..  Not a Change UK or Lib Dem Party Member.

people voted (and they'll vote again) for Chuka because he is human. It makes no difference what party he represents...

There is no constitutional requirement for an MP to stand down and trigger a by-election if they change parties (sic)

It'll be interesting to see if Umunna stands as a candidate in Streatham in the next General Election, or goes elsewhere. It was suggested in the press today that he might stand in Vince Cable's seat (assuming Cable stands down).

No chance of the Brexit party getting a look in as its London. Smiley Very Happy  If there were to be a by-election, Labour would probably win, although if people are fed up enough the LibDems could take the seat.

Should he yes and no, yes because he was elected under a Labour manifesto, no because his constituents will only vote him back in, why you may ask because he's a dam good mp.
