I make it in my slow cooker lol, one tin condensed milk, 400g cheap milk chocolate ( more expensive chocolate is a bit too oily) 200g mint aero. On low in your slow cooker with the lid off, for 90mins, beating it smooth every 15 mins. Thats for mint aero flavour obviously, but you can change the 200g aero with 200g chocolate orange or matchmakers, or Maltesers etc. Easy peasy lemon squeezy xx

So intricate! At 10 cm it’s too big to wear as a brooch - is it functional? What a lovely object. I’m not good at making small, detailed things like this.

@poppy1910 I’d never thought of using the slow cooker ... I might give that s go ... beats boiling sugar for 5 minutes

@pinkcalculator let’s just say my attempts at tablet stopped at the first try ... I let the kids buy it at craft fairs and sales instead 😂😂

@jimvee I’ve used salt dough for various things (including a model Viking village ... dont ask! ) I don’t have any tree decorations ... yet!

@pinks29 thanks for the plate inspiration. I picked up some of the tempered glass ones in ikea for 50p each and dug our my ceramic pens.  These will be handwashable and so much nicer than a box for baking for friends and colleagues!

Loving those plates @kath72 this is the sort of thing I make with salt dough, but you could make Christmas trees, all sorts, I know this isn’t Christmasy, just to show you

Oooh that’s pretty @frenchielove ... and very delicate

Just thinking, could you icing cutters on the dough, how much does it expand when baked?
