Seems that Twiiter have been very naughty and could be learning more about you than you thought, storing your entire address book on their servers.  I personally never installed the official Twitter app on my phone and it's not clear whether this "Contact Harvesting" is an iPhone only thing but it might affect other platforms as well

Read about it here.

hmmm... makes O2's recent faux pas look innocent really...  how many global members does tw4tter claim?

lots more than O2's 23 million UK customers i'm sure... (+ maybe 2m more across the mvno's that use them)

This is an utter invasion of privacy and should not be tolerated. I have Twitter on my Android and IPod so I'm not sure if I'm affected.

Why they feel they must have our address books is beyond me.

I use twitter iPhone app, this blows.
In England, we have such good manners that if someone says something impolite, the police will get involved.
