Oh yes, the ice inside your bedroom windows in winter, was flipping freezing cold, used to lie in bed breathing like a dragon! We had blankets then too, weighed a ton and weren't that warm. If you were lucky you'd get a boiling hot water bottle, but without a fluffy cover, could hardly bare it in the bed. 😂😂

But everyone was in the same boat, never thought anything of it.

We had a coal fire in the living room, a parafin heater in the kitchen and a plug in fire for the bathroom. The bedrooms had no heat.

Don't fancy doing that now.

We're not mad on heat, but 18 does it for us these days. 😊

Computers loading up games from cassettes.

You listened while it played through a fax type sound only to find it didn't work and you'd have to rewind and try again on a slightly different volume 😂

I used to work for a guy who rented out VHS players for the evening.
They were so expensive that not many people could afford them at first.
He'd deliver a player and a couple of tapes to your house for a fee, and pick it up the next morning Smiley Very Happy

For 20 years prior to March we were still using an outside toilet and the coal shed joined to it.Very handy too when you're in the garden. Smiley Happy

Izal toilet paper on a roll? That was luxury indeed - we had the same rotten stuff in a box, it came out a single sheet at a time Smiley Sad
